PVRIS marked a new era with the release of Use Me in 2020, as frontwoman, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer Lynn Gunn confidently stepped forward as PVRIS’ leader and sole architect. That newfound sense of freedom defined the record, on which Lynn wrote, played the entirely of the guitar, drums, and bass parts, cooked up beats, and of course, sang vocals. Awash in glitchy beat-craft, airy guitars, and spell-binding vocals, the record included 070 Shake collaboration “Use Me,” explosive song “Hallucinations,” plus “Dead Weight,” “Gimme A Minute,” and “Death of Me” all brought to life by producer JT Daly [K. Flay].

The Bristol experimental band recorded two new songs onto a two track EP, live and direct to vinyl at Metropolis Studios with BBC 6 Music’s Steve Lamacq show giving fans the chance to listen in on this unique live performance.
Recording ‘live to vinyl’ is the original process that artists used to record music for public consumption. There’s no modern technology, it’s simply playing and recording the songs in one take. In today’s digital age, the art of capturing music live to vinyl has long been forgotten, but Metropolis have recreated the experience using their unique cutting lathes.
First Time On Vinyl. Following on from the reissues of Everybody Else is Doing it… ‘ and No Need to Argue – and 30 years after their debut release – UMC are proud to issue for the first time on vinyl a special transparent edition of the band’s greatest-hits collection ‘Stars: The Best of 1992–2002’.The Cranberries rose to international fame in the 1990s with global smashes such as ‘Zombie’, ‘Dreams’ and ‘Linger’ – collected here alongside tracks from their five albums for Island – plus two tracks unavailable on other albums ‘New New York’ and ‘Stars’.
Robert Smith pulled another surprise from his trick bag on Wild Mood Swings, an amazingly fresh album for a band that at this point had been at it for over two decades. Here Smith's penchant for catchy melodies laid against song structures that build in intensity continues. Wild Mood Swings includes some of the most cheerful tunes Smith has ever penned, including the festive "Strange Attraction", punctuated with bells and ukuleles, and the jaunty joyride of "Mint Car". "The 13th" is perhaps the most original song on the album, its melody relying on a spanish fanfare (the first extensive use of a horn section on a cure song since 1987's Hey You!").
The tracks on this album have never been officially released before now. The eight songs on this album were recorded in 1978 on a 2-track stereo Revox A77 tape recorder. The recordings are unashamedly analogue, using one microphone and guitars plugged directly into the tape recorder. Bouncing down tracks irreversibly as they went on, forced to make creative decisions that could not be undone. Some hard choices had to be made with the mix, but with no record company meant no record company agenda. TV Smith and Richard Strange could write and record whatever they wanted – and did! It has been an enormous pleasure to rediscover these recordings, the result of a friendship of two artists emerging from broken bands and each about to embark on a lifelong adventure in words and music.
